MECU Caring for Community Foundation was founded February 12, 2024.
We are a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to support the core membership and community field of membership of Municipal Employees Credit Union of Oklahoma City in charitable and civic-oriented ways as determined by the Foundation. Foundation board members are Adona Hatfield, Alisha Engles, Brooklyn Turner, Je’Neil Torres, John Cummings, LaShawn Thompson, Wiley Williams, W. B. Smith.
The purpose of the Wellness Unit is to provide holistic support to aid in the wellness of the officers and civilian employees of the Oklahoma City Police Department. The Wellness Unit strives to provide psychological support, as well as promote financial health, physical wellbeing, and resilience education. The Wellness Unit endeavors to identify new and innovative wellness resources for the entire police family. This includes, but is not limited to, medical doctors, licensed mental health professionals, researchers, financial experts, retirement experts, fitness instructors and clergy.
The Selfless Hands Foundation intends to serve vulnerable families with compassion and kindness. The organization is committed to helping families access the resources they need to thrive and to providing support during difficult times. Through the dedication and hard work of Raven and the Selfless Hands Foundation team, the organization continues to make a positive impact on the community and serve those in need.
Wind & Fire MC is a nonterritorial, worldwide motorcycle club, made up of Firefighters who love to ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles and have a desire to help those who’ve recently been victims of fire-related losses or injuries. Heartland Heat is our local chapter, made up of both active and retired firefighters from across central Oklahoma. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, and every single dollar we raise throughout the year is used to help local families. We have assisted families in their time of need, such as buying clothes, furniture, toys, & gift certificates. We also support the Firefighters burn camp each year.
The Caring for Community Foundation supports recipients of the Oklahoma City Police Wellness Unit, Selfless Hands Foundation, and Wind & Fire Heartland Heat – Chapter 65.
