Round Up Savings

When you enroll in MECUs Round-Up Debit Card Savings program, we will round up the amount of any debit card point of sale (POS) purchases made by you or a joint owner of your account to the next whole dollar amount. The excess amount of your purchase amount will be transferred from your designated checking account to your designated savings or checking account at MECU. This process will happen for all debit card POS transactions posting throughout the business day and the money will be moved to the designated account you have chosen to receive the round-up amount. If, on any business day, you do not have sufficient funds available in your designated checking account or if the transaction has overdrawn your designated checking account, we will not round up for purchases posting on that business day thereby overdrawing your account, and we will not round up if the transaction is rejected, returned, or otherwise not paid and posted to your account. We may cancel the debit card round up transfer service at any time. Debit card roundup POS transactions must occur on a qualifying* designated checking account with MECU. Round-up transfers are not eligible for transfer to another institution. MECU, or you, the member, may cancel or close your accounts at any time. Once you close your accounts no additional roundup transactions will post. *Qualifying accounts mean accounts that meet all MECUs terms and conditions for account ownership and include round-up transfers that are made between account numbers opened and owned under the same membership Agreement and member number. MECUs round-up product does not transfer monies between memberships and member numbers. Federally insured by the NCUA.
