Heather Surrell
With eight years of dedicated service at MECU, Heather currently serves as the Downtown Branch Manager, where she leads her team in delivering exceptional member experiences and trusted financial guidance. She began her career at MECU as a teller and has advanced through several roles, demonstrating a strong commitment to member service, operational excellence, and continuous learning.
As a Certified Financial Counselor, Heather is passionate about helping members build financial confidence, reach their financial goals, and create long-term financial stability. Her experience across multiple areas of the credit union has given her a deep understanding of the needs of our members and the community we serve.
Heather takes pride in building meaningful relationships with members and helping them navigate important financial decisions with confidence.

Hugo Salcido
Hugo Salcido has over 30 years of experience in the credit union industry, including 21 years with MECU and currently serves as the North Branch Manager. Throughout his career, he has developed deep expertise across multiple operational areas, including compliance, lending operations, frontline operations, new accounts, IRAs, and with training and development.
Hugo’s comprehensive understanding of credit union operations allows him to effectively navigate regulatory requirements while maintaining a strong focus on member service. His experience in compliance and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) oversight, combined with hands-on operational leadership, positions him as a trusted resource within the organization.
He is passionate about helping members achieve financial balance and connecting them with the right tools and resources to support their goals. His commitment to service reflects both his dedication to the credit union philosophy and the members he serves.
