Heather Surrell
With eight years of dedicated service at MECU, Heather currently serves as the Downtown Branch Manager, where she leads her team in delivering exceptional member experiences and trusted financial guidance. She began her career at MECU as a teller and has advanced through several roles, demonstrating a strong commitment to member service, operational excellence, and continuous learning.
As a Certified Financial Counselor, Heather is passionate about helping members build financial confidence, reach their financial goals, and create long-term financial stability. Her experience across multiple areas of the credit union has given her a deep understanding of the needs of our members and the community we serve.
Heather takes pride in building meaningful relationships with members and helping them navigate important financial decisions with confidence.

Hugo Salcido
Hugo Salcido has over 30 years of experience in the credit union industry, including 21 years with MECU and currently serves as the North Branch Manager. Throughout his career, he has developed deep expertise across multiple operational areas, including compliance, lending operations, frontline operations, new accounts, IRAs, and with training and development.
Hugo’s comprehensive understanding of credit union operations allows him to effectively navigate regulatory requirements while maintaining a strong focus on member service. His experience in compliance and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) oversight, combined with hands-on operational leadership, positions him as a trusted resource within the organization.
He is passionate about helping members achieve financial balance and connecting them with the right tools and resources to support their goals. His commitment to service reflects both his dedication to the credit union philosophy and the members he serves.

Aerial Norwood
With 13 years of experience in the credit union industry and more than a year with MECU, Aerial has built her career around serving members, strengthening financial well-being, and delivering exceptional service. Her professional journey has included roles as a Teller, Loan Officer, and currently Teller Supervisor, giving her extensive experience in member service, lending, branch operations, and team leadership.
As a Certified Financial Counselor, Aerial is passionate about helping individuals and families make informed financial decisions and achieve their financial goals. She strongly believes in the credit union philosophy of putting people first and takes pride in building trusted relationships that empower members to succeed.
In her current role as Teller Supervisor, Aerial focuses on developing and supporting her team, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring every member receives a positive and personalized experience. One of the most rewarding aspects of her career is helping members gain confidence in their financial future while mentoring others to grow professionally and reach their full potential.
Nicole Huneke
With more than 30 years of banking and credit union experience, Nicole Huneke brings knowledge, compassion, and a member-first approach to every conversation. As a Certified Financial Counselor and Certified IRA Specialist, Nicole helps members better understand their finances, work through challenges, and identify practical steps toward reaching their financial goals.
Nicole has served MECU members for three years, assisting with new accounts, retirement accounts, trusts, and financial counseling. She believes the best financial guidance starts with listening, understanding each member’s unique situation, and creating a comfortable space where members can ask questions without judgment.
For Nicole, it’s about more than accounts and numbers. It’s about building relationships and helping members move forward with confidence.
Nicole is also proud to serve her community as a Rotarian with the South Oklahoma City Rotary Club.
